The Nigerian Army has reaffirmed its commitment to providing high-quality medical care for personnel injured in the line of duty, promising that their sacrifices will not be in vain.

During a working visit to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna, the message was delivered by the Army Headquarters’ Chief of Administration, Isah Abdullahi, on behalf of the Army Chief, Waidi Shaibu.

Abdullahi said:
“This visit serves as an assessment to evaluate the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, regarded as a flagship facility of the Nigerian Army.”

He explained that the hospital, described as having undergone “a significant transformation … representing a complete paradigm shift from its previous state,” is now better equipped to serve both military personnel and civilians from Kaduna and beyond.

Addressing the wounded-in-action soldiers directly, the message was clear: the Nigerian Army is committed to ensuring they receive “the best medical care, with the intention of returning them to their duty posts as swiftly as possible.”

During the visit, hospital leadership — including the Medical Director, Godwin Ogoh — and other senior officers were present as the delegation toured the facility and inspected ongoing improvements.

As the Nigerian Army continues its fight against insecurity, the assurance aims to reassure troops and the public that wounded soldiers will not be neglected, underlining a renewed focus on their welfare and recovery.
