Troops of the Joint Task Force, North-East, Operation HADIN KAI, have recorded fresh operational gains following the arrest of a suspected Boko Haram drone supplier and the neutralisation of insurgents during coordinated operations in Adamawa and Borno states.

According to a statement by the Media Information Officer of Operation HADIN KAI, Lt. Col. Sani Uba, troops working alongside local vigilantes and hunters carried out intelligence-led missions aimed at dismantling the terrorists’ logistics and operational networks.

In Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State, troops neutralised a terrorist commander identified as Abdullahi Mafa during an ambush along the Visik River line. An AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine were recovered from the scene.

Acting on further intelligence, soldiers also arrested a 64-year-old suspect, Dauda Usman Gubula, described as a “terrorist collaborator and drone supplier responsible for supplying drones to the terrorists, which are subsequently locally armed and used against troops.” Items recovered from him included two aerial drones, drone accessories and 20 solar power banks.

In a related operation, troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade apprehended another logistics suspect, Ismail Muhammed, in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State. Recovered items included an AK-47 magazine, rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, military accoutrements and assorted food supplies. The suspect is currently in custody for further investigation.

Meanwhile, in Borno State, troops in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) repelled insurgent activity in Ngamdu and neutralised a suspected informant attempting to breach defensive positions. Logistic materials were also recovered during the operation.

Military authorities said the operations form part of “sustained efforts to disrupt Boko Haram supply lines, restore security, and protect communities across the North-East region,” while the high command commended troops for their dedication and urged them to maintain the current operational momentum.
