Former Barcelona midfield maestro Andrés Iniesta is set to announce his retirement from professional football at the age of 40.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest players in football history, Iniesta is expected to officially reveal his decision on October 8.
In a career that spanned over two decades, Iniesta has left an indelible mark on the sport. He teased his upcoming announcement with a video posted on his X account, simply captioned, “Coming soon 8/10/24.”
Iniesta’s time at Barcelona was nothing short of extraordinary. He made 674 appearances for the club, scoring 57 goals and providing 135 assists. His contributions were instrumental in securing 32 major trophies, including nine La Liga titles, four Champions League triumphs, and six Copa del Rey victories.
