Moses Simon has emphasized the importance of the Super Eagles starting their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a victory.
The Nigerian team is set to face neighboring Benin Republic in their opening match on Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
The encounter comes after the Super Eagles suffered a 2-1 defeat to Benin in a June 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Simon stressed that the team is eager to avenge that loss and meet the expectations of Nigerian fans.
“Of course, all Nigerians are expecting a win, so we will go there and do our best,” Simon, who plays for Nantes, told SCORENigeria. “The best outcome for Nigeria is to secure a win; this is the most important thing.”
