Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has called for deeper collaboration between Ghana and Nigeria at subnational levels to foster mutual growth and development.
During a closed-door meeting with former Ghanaian President John Mahama at his residence in Accra, Adeleke emphasized the need to extend the longstanding partnership between the two nations beyond national engagements.
He proposed that the Ghana-Nigeria Commission promote cooperation between state and regional governments for enhanced developmental outcomes.
Reflecting on the historical ties between the two countries, Adeleke expressed optimism about further strengthening these bonds.
He also conveyed congratulations to Mahama on his assumption of office and commended Nigerian President Bola Tinubu on his participation in the inauguration.
Highlighting opportunities for collaboration, Adeleke stated that Osun State is ready to explore commercial and cultural partnerships with regional and local governments in Ghana for the benefit of both nations.
The event also witnessed the attendance of six Nigerian governors alongside other high-ranking officials from Nigeria, underscoring the significance of the Ghana-Nigeria relationship.
