The Nigerian Police Force, announced the arrest of 751 individuals in connection with cybercrime-related offenses in 2024.
Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, shared the details while presenting the year’s scorecard.
He revealed that 14 convictions were secured from a total of 508 reported cases during the period under review.
Adejobi stated that $840,000 was recovered for victims of cybercrime.
Additionally, N914 million and over $115,000 remain frozen in various bank accounts and cryptocurrency wallets linked to the fraud cases.
Further investigations led to the recovery of 26 vehicles, 16 houses, and 39 plots of land, according to the Force PRO.
The announcement highlights the police’s efforts to combat cybercrime and protect victims from financial losses in an increasingly digital world.
