The Commissioner of Police, Abia Command, Danladi Isa, reinstated round-the-clock operations at the Command’s Radio Communications Office to bolster security services across the state in 2025.
In a statement issued on Friday in Umuahia, the Police Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chinaka, highlighted that the upgrade aims to enhance security responsiveness for residents.
Chinaka noted that the office’s coverage now extends to all parts of the state, following the installation of advanced equipment and replacement of outdated systems to ensure seamless communication.
“This upgrade is designed to enhance efficiency in managing directives and responding promptly to security emergencies across Abia,” she stated.
During a briefing with officers from the Communications Department, Commissioner Isa underscored the department’s pivotal role in maintaining state security.
He urged officers to remain proactive, diligent, and committed to their responsibilities.
Isa directed that the control room operate continuously, with technicians available daily to address any technical challenges.
He also warned against laxity, indiscipline, and negligence among officers, emphasizing that such behavior would not be tolerated.
The commissioner further announced that strategic officers who fail to respond promptly to radioed directives would face disciplinary measures.
