Troops from the 1 Brigade in Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force North West, under Operation Fansan Yamma, successfully neutralized several terrorists, including the notorious bandit leader Alhaji Ma’oli, in Zamfara State.

The operation took place on December 26 in Maisheka village, near Kunchin Kalgo in Tsafe Local Government Area, as confirmed in a statement issued by Lt. Col. Abdullahi Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre for Operation Fansan Yamma.

According to the statement, Ma’oli had long terrorized local communities, imposing illegal levies on residents of Unguwan Rogo, Mai Sheka, Magazawa, and other surrounding areas of Bilbis in Tsafe LGA.

His neutralization has been hailed by locals, who now feel a sense of relief and security.

“The operation was initiated following intelligence reports about terrorists on motorcycles operating in the Bilbis area of Tsafe LGA,” the statement noted.

“The swift response of our troops not only thwarted the terrorist,s plans to attack the local community but also reinforced our commitment to securing the region from further violence,” the statement continued.

The statement further emphasized that Operation Fansan Yamma remains resolute in its mission to eliminate all terrorists and their collaborators within the Joint Task Force area of operations.

The task force continues to collaborate closely with local communities to ensure lasting peace and security in Zamfara and neighboring areas.
