The Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has called on Nigerians to embrace peace, love, and unity during the Christmas season. In a statement issued on Wednesday by her media team, the minister celebrated the festive season with women, children, and vulnerable groups across the country.
Highlighting the importance of the season, Sulaiman-Ibrahim urged Nigerians to strengthen family bonds, promote peaceful coexistence, and foster a sense of community. She emphasized that Christmas is a time for reunions and spreading love, especially to those in need.
“To all Nigerian women, I say thank you for your resilience, hard work, and dedication to your families and communities. Your contributions to national development are invaluable, and I celebrate you all,” the minister stated.
She also noted that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for women, the elderly, children, and vulnerable groups is already making an impact, with the ministry distributing year-end food interventions to support families during the festive period.
“As we mark the birth of Jesus Christ, I pray that his teachings of love, peace, and kindness continue to guide us as individuals and as a nation,” she added.
Sulaiman-Ibrahim encouraged Nigerians to remember the less privileged during the festive period, stressing the need for a more inclusive and equitable society. “Let us also remember the vulnerable groups among us, including women, children, and the elderly, who may be struggling during this time,” she said.
Looking ahead to 2024, the minister reaffirmed her ministry’s commitment to women’s empowerment, gender equality, and social development. “We will continue to work tirelessly to address the challenges faced by women and girls, including gender-based violence, economic exclusion, and limited access to education and healthcare,” she assured.
Her message resonates as a reminder of the collective responsibility to uphold love, unity, and support for vulnerable groups during the Yuletide and beyond.
