Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, directed all recently reassigned commissioners to conclude the handover of their responsibilities by Tuesday, December 17, 2024, to ensure a seamless transition in government operations.
The directive was conveyed in a statement released on Sunday by the governor’s spokesperson, Malam Sanusi Dawakin Tofa.
The statement emphasized that the cabinet reshuffle would take full effect during the next state executive council meeting scheduled for Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
“All commissioners affected by the changes are directed to hand over their responsibilities between Monday, 16th and Tuesday, 17th December 2024,” the statement noted.
Governor Yusuf underlined the importance of completing the transition process within the stipulated timeline to minimize disruptions to governance.
Addressing the state executive council, the governor called for renewed dedication and teamwork among its members, urging them to remain steadfast in delivering on the administration’s promises to the people of Kano State.
“The spirit of teamwork, dedication, and commitment remains crucial for achieving our collective goal of serving the good people of Kano,” the statement added.
The cabinet reshuffle, seen as part of the governor’s strategy to enhance governance, includes significant changes.
Last Thursday, “PUNCH Online” reported that Governor Yusuf dissolved the office of the chief of staff, dismissed the secretary to the state government, and relieved five commissioners of their duties.
