The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP – Kogi Central), has initiated a four-day medical outreach aimed at delivering free healthcare services to her constituents.
The programme, which commenced on Monday, seeks to provide medical assistance to at least 1,000 individuals from Kogi Central.
The outreach is being held at two locations: Obeiba Cottage Hospital in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area (LGA), and Ebiye, Eganyi Cottage Hospital in Ajaokuta LGA.
It is designed to address a range of medical needs, offering free medications and tailored healthcare recommendations to participants.
The services provided include child health interventions such as immunization and nutrition screening, as well as antenatal care, ultrasounds, labor and postpartum management.
Other areas of focus are gynecological services like family planning, reproductive health, and screenings for non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and eye conditions.
The medical team, led by Pharm. Aliu Ibrahim, comprises experienced doctors and healthcare professionals committed to delivering quality care throughout the programme.
The initiative underscores Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s dedication to enhancing the well-being of her constituents, particularly in the area of healthcare.
This outreach is part of the senator’s broader efforts to address pressing healthcare challenges within her community and improve access to essential medical services.
