The Managing Director/CEO of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Dr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, has lauded Amal Technologies (Amaltech) for its pivotal role in advancing Nigeria’s manufacturing sector, describing the company as the “China of Nigeria.”

This statement came during Dr. Abdulaziz’s recent visit to Amaltech’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, where he expressed his admiration for the company’s diverse production capabilities.

“I’m happy to be here. When I was coming, I was expecting to see a factory focused on meter production, but I’m really impressed with the diversity of products they manufacture, including chargers and POS machines,” Dr. Abdulaziz remarked.

He emphasized that Amaltech’s manufacturing prowess mirrors the industrial vibrancy seen in China, positioning the company as a significant player in Nigeria’s efforts to enhance local production and reduce dependency on imports.

The partnership between TCN and Amaltech is part of a broader initiative by President Bola Tinubu’s administration to close the 7 million meter deficit in Nigeria’s power sector.

Dr. Abdulaziz stressed the importance of having more domestic meter manufacturers to save revenue, reduce pressure on foreign reserves, and minimize losses faced by distribution companies.

He expressed confidence in Amaltech’s potential to receive government support, stating that TCN is committed to partnering with the company on metering initiatives.

“TCN is the prince of the power sector, and without it, no one can exist,” Dr. Abdulaziz noted, underscoring the interdependence between TCN and distribution companies for sustained financial health and operational efficiency.

With its robust manufacturing infrastructure and dedicated team, Amaltech is well-positioned to address modern technological challenges, driving Nigeria’s manufacturing industry forward and solidifying its reputation as the “China of Nigeria.”

In response, Shehu Tijjani Abdullahi, the founder of Amaltech, articulated the company’s vision to be a leading innovator in the field of electronic manufacturing.

He highlighted Amaltech’s commitment to turning ideas into tangible, high-quality products through a diverse range of offerings, including smart electricity meters, water meters, and point-of-sale (POS) machines.
