The 2024 Ardova Handball Premier League phase 2 in Lagos witnessed a thrilling Day 6, with historic performances in the women’s category and narrow victories in the men’s league.

Imo Grasshoppers and COAS Babes made headlines by scoring over 40 goals in a single game. The match, an exhilarating end-to-end encounter, saw Imo Grasshoppers emerge victorious with a 43-41 win over a resilient COAS Babes. Both teams showcased remarkable skill and determination, earning plaudits from fans and analysts alike.

In other women’s category matches, Seasider Babes of Lagos defeated Plateau Peacocks 28-25, while Rima Queens outclassed Bendel Dynamos with a commanding 36-21 victory. Defender Babes secured a hard-fought 33-26 win over Rivers Queens, and defending champions Safety Babes maintained their unbeaten streak, edging Delta Queens 31-27.

The men’s category also delivered intense action. League leaders Tojemarine Handball Club narrowly escaped an upset, securing a slim 27-26 win against a disciplined Kano Pillars side. De Defenders had to dig deep to claim a 26-25 victory over Corrections Boys, while Benue Buffaloes and Sunshine Kings played out a thrilling 23-23 draw. Rima Strikers added to the day’s drama by defeating defending champions Niger United 28-26.

As the league progresses, fans can expect even more high-stakes matches and standout performances from Nigeria’s top handball teams.
