The Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) have announced a strategic partnership to jointly host the 2025 Nigeria International Air Show.
The agreement was reached during a courtesy visit by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), at his office in Abuja.
During the visit, Air Marshal Abubakar revealed that the Nigerian Air Force had been independently planning an air show before learning of the Ministry’s similar initiative.
“Recognizing the immense potential of collaboration, the Air Chief proposed a partnership, realizing that a united approach would significantly enhance the event’s impact and reinforce its global appeal,” the Ministry said in a statement by its Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Tunde Moshood.
Minister Festus Keyamo commended Air Marshal Abubakar’s foresight and willingness to collaborate, describing the partnership as a pivotal step toward positioning Nigeria as a hub for aviation and aerospace innovation.
“This synergy will enable us to achieve shared objectives and showcase Nigeria’s capabilities to the world,” he remarked.
To facilitate seamless planning and execution, an eight-member committee has been established, comprising representatives from both the Ministry and the Nigerian Air Force.
The committee will oversee all aspects of the air show, including logistics, international collaborations, and stakeholder engagement.
The 2025 Nigeria International Air Show is set to attract global industry leaders, including manufacturers, investors, regulators, and enthusiasts.
The event will serve as a platform to showcase cutting-edge technologies, foster partnerships, and explore opportunities for advancing Nigeria’s aviation sector.
This collaboration underscores the nation’s commitment to driving innovation and positioning itself as a key player in the global aviation and aerospace landscape.
