The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has unveiled ambitious plans to reshape Abuja, promising a transformed capital city by the end of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in 2027. Speaking at the inauguration of the upgraded War College/Army Checkpoint project in Ushafa, Bwari Area Council, Wike emphasized his commitment to addressing the city’s infrastructure needs.
Wike assured residents that improvements would span all Area Councils as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda, enhancing living conditions throughout the FCT. He encouraged citizens to hold the government accountable for tax spending, underscoring the importance of transparency in public finances.
Addressing social issues, Wike highlighted a new security initiative aimed at eradicating street begging in Abuja, affirming the administration’s dedication to fostering a safer, more inclusive environment for all residents.
