The Federal Government has announced that Tuesday, October 1, 2024, will be observed as a public holiday in celebration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day.
The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Saturday, through a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
Tunji-Ojo extended congratulations to Nigerians both at home and abroad, commending their patience and hard work. He emphasized that their sacrifices would not be in vain.
“This day is an opportunity for all of us to reflect on the labour of our heroes past and to draw inspiration for the tasks ahead,” Tunji-Ojo said. “We must realize that the Nigeria of our dreams can only be built through unity.”
The Minister wished all Nigerians a Happy Independence Day and urged them to remain steadfast in their commitment to nation-building.
