The Federal Government has declared Friday, May 1, 2026, a public holiday to commemorate this year’s International Workers’ Day.The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the government, extending congratulations to workers across the country.
In a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani, the minister praised Nigerian workers for their dedication and contributions to national development.“The Federal Government has declared Friday, 1st May 2026, a public holiday to celebrate this year’s International Workers Day,” the statement read.
Tunji-Ojo highlighted the critical role of workers in driving the nation’s growth and prosperity, urging them to continue to uphold the values of patriotism, productivity, and commitment to duty.
