The Administrator of Rivers State, Joseph Ibas, has sworn in eight newly appointed permanent secretaries into the state civil service.
The swearing-in ceremony, held on Thursday at Government House, Port Harcourt, is part of Ibas’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the state’s bureaucracy and ensure efficient public service delivery.
Speaking at the event, Administrator Ibas charged the new appointees to uphold the principles of integrity, transparency, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
“This administration is committed to rebuilding public trust and restoring competence in the service. Your appointments are based on merit, and we expect nothing less than excellence from each of you,” he stated.
He further emphasized that the civil service remains the engine room of governance and urged the new permanent secretaries to align with the administration’s reforms aimed at improving service delivery across all sectors.
The newly sworn-in officials pledged their commitment to serving the state diligently and contributing to its growth and development.
Their appointment comes amid ongoing administrative restructuring across key sectors in Rivers State.
