Nigeria international Ola Aina has committed his future to Nottingham Forest by signing a new three-year contract that will keep him at the Premier League club until June 2028.

The 28-year-old full-back joined Forest in July 2023 on a one-year deal after his contract with Italian Serie A side Torino expired. He made an instant impact, becoming a regular in the starting lineup as the club narrowly avoided relegation in his debut season.

According to The Athletic on Sunday, Forest triggered a one-year extension in Aina’s contract in May 2024 after securing their Premier League survival. The newly signed long-term deal reflects the club’s growing confidence in his performances and versatility.

Aina featured predominantly as a right-back under head coach Nuno Espírito Santo during the 2024–25 season, making 37 appearances in all competitions. His contributions were instrumental in Forest’s strong league campaign, which saw them finish seventh, as well as their impressive run to the FA Cup semi-finals.

Since arriving at the City Ground, Aina has made 59 appearances, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

His contract renewal follows similar extensions for key players, including right-back Neco Williams and centre-back Murillo, whose deals now run until 2029. Head coach Nuno Espírito Santo also reaffirmed his commitment to the club in June by signing a contract extension until 2028.

Aina, a product of Chelsea’s academy, made six senior appearances for the Blues before loan spells at Hull City and Torino. He joined Torino permanently in 2019 and went on to feature in 113 matches for the Italian club, including a loan stint at Fulham during the 2020–21 Premier League season.

Though born in London and having represented England at youth level, Aina chose to play for Nigeria at senior level in 2017 and has since earned 40 caps for the Super Eagles.
