The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced that Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria Désirée of Sweden, will visit Nigeria from Monday, April 7 to Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
In a statement released on Sunday, signed by Acting Spokesperson Kimiebi Ebienfa, the Ministry outlined the significance of the Crown Princess’s visit in bolstering the diplomatic and economic relations between the two nations.
During her stay, Crown Princess Victoria will participate in a series of high-level meetings with Nigerian officials aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation.
On her first day, she will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar.
She will also hold discussions with Vice President Kashim Shettima, as well as the Governor of Lagos State.
A highlight of the visit will be the unveiling of the Swedish Trade Office in Lagos, marking a pivotal step in expanding trade relations between Sweden and Nigeria.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to announce the official visit of Her Royal Highness Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, to Nigeria, scheduled from Monday, 7th to Wednesday, 9th April 2025,” the statement said.
“The visiting royal will engage in high-level discussions with key Nigerian officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, and the Governor of Lagos State.
A key event will be the commissioning of the Swedish Trade Office in Lagos,”the statement continued.
Ebienfa emphasized that the visit underscores the strong and enduring partnership between Nigeria and Sweden, with a focus on areas such as trade, sustainable development, gender equality, and cultural exchange.
“Nigeria remains committed to advancing its relationship with Sweden.
This visit is a testament to the solid and cordial bilateral relations between both nations and the shared commitment to fostering collaboration in trade, sustainable development, gender equality, and cultural exchange.” the Ministry concluded, expressing optimism for fruitful outcomes from the engagement.
