The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has expressed profound grief over the death of renowned Islamic scholar and preacher, Dr. Idris Abdulaziz Dutsen Tanshi, who passed away late Thursday in Bauchi.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Ismaila Uba Misilli, Governor Yahaya described Dr. Abdulaziz as a distinguished religious leader whose teachings and guidance played a significant role in the advancement of Islamic scholarship and moral development across the northern region and beyond.
Highlighting the cleric’s lifelong dedication to the propagation of Islamic knowledge and spiritual mentorship, Governor Yahaya emphasized that his passing represents a significant loss not only to his immediate family and the people of Bauchi State, but also to the broader Muslim community and students of Islamic thought.
On behalf of the government and people of Gombe State and the Northern States Governors’ Forum, Governor Yahaya extended his deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased, the government of Bauchi State, and the entire Muslim Ummah.
He also offered prayers for the late cleric, asking Allah to grant him eternal rest in Aljannat Firdaus and provide his loved ones with the strength to endure this difficult time.
