The management of Oyo State College of Nursing Sciences, Eleyele, confirmed that 75 of its students, successfully benefitted from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

The announcement was made by the college’s Provost, Gbonjubola Owolabi, during a meeting with the management staff at the college’s premises in Eleyele, Ibadan, on Friday.

In a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, Owolabi confirmed that the loan funds for the 75 students were received on Thursday.

“We are pleased to inform the college that we received the loan funds for 75 students yesterday (Thursday),” she said, expressing gratitude for the initiative.

“78 students applied, and 75 benefitted from the loan programme,” she continued.

Owolabi commended NELFUND for their support, noting that the initiative helps to ease the financial burden on students, allowing them to continue their education without hindrance.

“Our college is grateful to NELFUND for this support to our students.

The College also congratulates these 75 students.

This strategic effort aims to ensure that students who truly need financial assistance can continue their education,” Owolabi stated.

The Provost also stated that the loan beneficiaries would be invited to a meeting for proper documentation and to ensure that students who applied for the 2025/2026 session are also considered.

She further highlighted the success of the programme, noting that NELFUND had paid the full fees for about 96% of the students who applied, describing the outcome as impressive.

Owolabi encouraged other students to apply for the NELFUND loan, emphasizing that it would significantly ease their educational pursuits.
