The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Dalijan, has decorated 160 officers with their new ranks following their recent promotion by the Nigerian Police Force.

During the ceremony held on Friday at the state police command headquarters, CP Dalijan emphasized that the promotions are part of ongoing efforts to boost the morale and motivation of officers, particularly those on the frontlines in the fight against insecurity in the region.

“This promotion is not just a reward for past efforts but also a call to greater service in the face of ongoing security threats,” CP Dalijan stated.

He urged the newly promoted officers to embrace their new roles with renewed commitment.

“You have to thank God for the elevation,” he added. “This promotion is meant to change the way you do things, the way you think, plan, and operate, reflecting your new rank.

To whom much is given, much is expected. We will assign you new roles that align with your elevated status, and we expect improved performance and better crime-fighting strategies to prove that you are deserving of these new ranks.”

CP Dalijan also stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to combat the menace of banditry, noting that the new ranks come with increased responsibilities.

Among those promoted, 84 officers were elevated from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police II (ASP II) to Assistant Superintendent of Police I (ASP I), while 76 Inspectors were promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police II (ASP II).
