President Bola Tinubu will celebrate his 73rd birthday on Saturday, March 29, with a special prayer session at the National Mosque in Abuja. The event, scheduled for Friday, coincides with the holy month of Ramadan and comes just two months before the second anniversary of his administration.
In a statement on Thursday, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), announced that the prayer session would serve as an occasion for Tinubu to express gratitude for divine guidance in his leadership journey.
The statement emphasized that the decision to hold a prayer session reflects Tinubu’s dedication to spiritual reflection and the nation’s collective well-being.
“Choosing a prayer session reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to Nigeria’s spiritual and moral well-being and his dedication to seeking divine guidance, insight, and strength in leadership,” it read.
Tinubu also called on Nigerians to participate in the prayers, either at their places of worship or in spirit, as a demonstration of unity and shared destiny.
Reflecting on his journey, the President expressed deep appreciation to Allah and the Nigerian people for their support.
“I am deeply thankful to Allah for the gift of life and the privilege to serve this great nation.
“As I mark another birthday and look forward to our second anniversary, my heart is filled with Renewed Hope for Nigeria.
“I urge all citizens to pray for divine guidance, unity, and healing for our land. Together, we shall overcome challenges and build a nation where every citizen thrives,” Tinubu said.
The statement further reaffirmed the President’s commitment to strengthening democracy, driving economic recovery, and fostering national unity.
“The President reaffirms his commitment to advancing economic reforms, strengthening national security, and expanding opportunities for all citizens,” it added.
As Tinubu’s administration nears its two-year milestone, the birthday prayers serve as a reminder of his belief in divine intervention as a cornerstone for national development and cohesion.
