The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled May 7 for the hearing of a certificate forgery case against Mrs. Odom Anita, a Director at the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).
Justice Binta Nyako, presiding over the case, also granted the University of Port Harcourt permission to file relevant legal documents. During the proceedings, the university’s counsel, Mr. Jude Ezenwata, informed the court that he had filed a motion to regularize and deem as properly filed a counter-affidavit that was previously submitted out of time.
The plaintiff, Mr. Njoku Ifeanyichukwu, alleged discrepancies in the academic credentials of the FCDA Director and urged the court to compel the University of Port Harcourt to provide her admission records, departmental results, and graduation certificate.
Additionally, the court was asked to direct the FCDA to present the academic records, graduation certificate, and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate that were used in employing the defendant.
The suit, filed by Abiodun Olusanya on behalf of the plaintiff, argues that these documents are necessary to clarify inconsistencies in the Director’s service records at the FCDA.
