Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has provided free medical equipment to the Osun Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS) and accredited government-owned hospitals across the state.
As part of the initiative, the governor also distributed corrective eye glasses and essential medications to no fewer than 42,000 students in public primary and secondary schools.
Speaking at the event, Governor Adeleke emphasized the importance of equipping selected hospitals with necessary medical tools to enhance healthcare delivery for Osun residents. He also highlighted his administration’s commitment to supporting students, stating:
“Many students perform poorly in school not because they lack intelligence, but because they struggle with vision problems. By providing free eye glasses, we aim to bring relief and improve their academic performance.”
Executive Secretary of the Osun Health Insurance Agency (OSHIA), Rasaq Akindele, reiterated that the initiative is designed to assist students with vision impairments, ensuring they receive the necessary support for better learning outcomes.
Health officials further noted that the distribution of medical equipment and eye glasses will significantly enhance healthcare services for both students and the general population in Osun State.
