The Taraba State Police Command has arrested a suspect found in possession of an AK-47 rifle and 25 rounds of live ammunition.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Command’s spokesperson, Usman Abdullahi, disclosed that the arrest was carried out by officers from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), led by ASP Yakubu Adamu Bubble.
“Acting on credible intelligence, the team, in collaboration with local hunters and vigilante groups, apprehended the suspect, identified as Yusufa Isah, in Funawo Village near Tella town, Gassol Local Government Area,” Abdullahi stated.
During the operation, police recovered an AK-47 rifle with breech number A1808M, 25 rounds of live ammunition, and some charms from the suspect.
Commending the officers for their efforts, Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Chukwudi C. Ariekpere, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to combating crime and ensuring the safety of residents.
He further directed a comprehensive investigation to identify and apprehend other members of the suspected criminal syndicate.
