Suspected armed bandits have kidnapped the Council Secretary of Munya Local Government Area, Daina Usman, along with four others in a late-night attack on Sarkin Pawa, Niger State.
According to intelligence sources, the incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. on February 20, when the assailants discreetly infiltrated Usman’s residence near the riverbank—an area notorious for criminal activities.
The abducted individuals include Daina Usman, his wife Deborah Daina, Sati Daina, Gambo Shagari, and Sorro, also known as Snu.
Sources told Zagazola that the kidnappers immediately fled with their captives into Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, a well-known escape route for criminal groups operating in the region.
Upon receiving a distress call from local vigilantes, security forces swiftly mobilized a joint task force, comprising military personnel from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Sarkin Pawa, Niger State Police Tactical Teams, and local vigilante groups, to track down the abductors.
A coordinated search-and-rescue operation is currently underway to locate the kidnappers and secure the safe return of the victims.
