Nigerian mixed martial artist Israel Adesanya has expressed appreciation for the unwavering support of Francis Ngannou, referring to the Cameroonian fighter as his “big brother” ahead of his highly anticipated bout against Nassourdine Imavov.
As Adesanya prepares for his comeback at UFC Saudi Arabia, Ngannou took to social media to share a photo with “The Last Stylebender,” assuring fans that his friend is in high spirits.
“Just 2 days before the battle for my brother, but he’s stress-free and in high spirits; he even looks younger! 😂” Ngannou wrote.
Adesanya responded with a heartfelt, “My big brother!!!”
A Bond Beyond the Octagon
Adesanya and Ngannou have consistently supported each other throughout their careers, forming a close bond as two of Africa’s most dominant UFC fighters. Their camaraderie dates back to their time as reigning champions, alongside Kamaru Usman, when they held the middleweight, heavyweight, and welterweight titles, respectively.
Ngannou’s show of support comes as Adesanya looks to bounce back from his first-ever two-fight losing streak.
Meanwhile, Ngannou recently teamed up with Senegalese football star Sadio Mané in Saudi Arabia, where Adesanya’s comeback fight is set to take place.
