The Jalingo Local Government Council in Taraba State, presented a ₦4.8 billion budget for the 2025 fiscal year, emphasizing sustainable growth and development in key sectors.

During the presentation at the council chamber on Monday, the Executive Chairman, Aminu Hassan, described the proposal as a “Budget of Sustainable Growth and Development.”

He noted that it aligns with Governor Agbu Kefa’s “Moving Forward Agenda”, which aims to advance Taraba State’s socio-economic progress.

Hassan celebrated the occasion as a significant milestone and thanked the legislative council and residents of Jalingo for their support, which he said had contributed to the achievements recorded in 2024.

He explained that the budget focuses on improving critical sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development.

The ₦4.8 billion budget includes a revenue projection of ₦3.321 billion from federal allocations and internally generated revenue, while Value Added Tax (VAT) is expected to contribute ₦1.47 billion.

Hassan outlined the allocations as follows: Personnel Costs: ₦1.69 billion (35%), Overhead Costs: ₦967.4 million (20%), Capital Expenditure: ₦1.45 billion (30%), Reserve Stabilisation Fund: ₦716.5 million (10%) and Loan/Debt Servicing: ₦8.3 million (5%).

“This budget reflects a commitment to transparency, accountability, and impactful governance.

Robust measures will be implemented to ensure every naira is judiciously utilised to deliver tangible benefits to the people,” Hassan stated.

Hassan urged council members to meticulously review the budget and work collaboratively with the executive arm to ensure its effective implementation.

He highlighted the importance of transforming the allocations into meaningful projects and policies that address the needs of residents.

Reaffirming his commitment to the development of Jalingo Local Government, Hassan expressed optimism about achieving unprecedented progress in 2025.

“Together, we can uplift our communities and secure a better future for generations to come,” he said.
