The Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC) has officially scheduled the Local Government Elections for November 16, 2024.
Bala Aliyu Gusau, the newly appointed Chairman of the Commission, announced this decision today following his swearing-in ceremony, conducted by the state Chief Judge, Justice Kulu Aliyu, represented by Mukhtar Yusha’u of the Zamfara State High Court at the Government House in Gusau.
In his address to journalists, Gusau outlined the preparations for the upcoming local council polls and revealed that the sale and submission of expression of interest forms will take place from October 25 to November 1, 2024.
Gusau emphasized that the commission is operating under Law Number Four of the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC) and assured the public that updates regarding the local council elections will be communicated as they arise.
