The 27-year-old dazzled in Atalanta’s thrilling 2-3 home defeat to the reigning champions on Tuesday night, scoring his 11th goal of the season and third in five Champions League appearances. Lookman’s 65th-minute strike provided a glimmer of hope for Atalanta but ultimately served as a consolation in a fiercely contested match in Bergamo.
Speaking to Richards about his scintillating form, Lookman said, “I mean, it’s timing. I think over these past two and a half years, I have been able to have consistency in playing. Obviously, that’s come into my game and allowed me to improve and show that. It also comes with the circumstances as well.”
Lookman’s display earned him the Man of the Match award, a testament to his all-around performance. The Nigerian completed 88% of his passes, created two chances, delivered two key passes, and registered three shots. He also made three successful dribbles, two recoveries, and had 10 touches inside Real Madrid’s penalty area.
