Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has expressed confidence that his first goal for Galatasaray is imminent after registering yet another assist in their 3-1 Europa League victory over PAOK.
Despite starting ahead of Mauro Icardi, Osimhen has yet to find the back of the net, but the Nigerian forward has now contributed three consecutive assists for the Turkish giants. In their latest UEFA Europa League clash against PAOK Salonica on Wednesday night, Osimhen played a key role, though his hunt for a goal continues.
Speaking after the game, Osimhen remained optimistic. “Unfortunately, it was an own goal again,” he told Galatasaray’s official website. “I feel it, my goal is very close. The most important thing is for Galatasaray to win.”
The 25-year-old forward also expressed his gratitude to the club’s passionate supporters and stressed the team’s determination to keep winning both in the league and in European competitions.
“I would like to thank the fans,” Osimhen added. “We need to continue winning in the league and Europe.”
Galatasaray are back in action this weekend with a league game against Kasimpasa, where Osimhen will look to break his scoring drought.
