Vice President Shettima Returns to Abuja After Official Visit to Côte d’Ivoire

Vice President Kashim Shettima, returned to Abuja, Nigeria, after attending the inaugural International Exhibition of Extractive and Energy Resources in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

Shettima arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Wednesday night.

Though no official statement was released regarding his return, sources confirmed his safe arrival.

During the summit, the Vice President called for stronger governance, greater transparency, and enhanced collaboration between leaders and industry stakeholders to effectively utilize Africa’s resource wealth for sustainable development.

He reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to fostering an inclusive extractive industry guided by principles of transparency, regional cooperation, and local capacity development.

The summit, themed “Policies and Strategies for the Sustainable Development of the Extractive and Energy Industries,” convened leaders from across Africa to explore innovative approaches to resource management and energy security.
