Dequantes Lamar, the Atlanta rapper known professionally as Rich Homie Quan, has died at the age of 33.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner confirmed the news on Thursday, with his death reported by Grady Memorial Hospital.
The cause and manner of Quan’s death remain unclear, and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday, September 6.
Rich Homie Quan made a significant impact on the hip-hop scene in 2013 with his breakout single “Type of Way,” which reached number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Known for his raw emotion and passionate delivery, Quan was a key figure in a new wave of rappers.
Throughout his career, Quan collaborated with prominent artists such as Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, and Young Thug, solidifying his place as a rising star in the music industry.
