The United States Embassy in Abuja and the Consulate General in Lagos will be temporarily closed on Monday, February 17, 2025, in observance of Presidents’ Day.
According to an announcement posted on X by the diplomatic mission on Sunday, normal operations will resume the following day, Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
Presidents’ Day is observed annually in the U.S. on the third Monday of February to honor past and present leaders of the country.
Although the embassy and consulate will not be open for regular services, essential services will remain available through emergency contact channels.
Nigerians in need of U.S. visas or other consular assistance are advised to plan their visits accordingly, as routine services will resume after the holiday.
