Trump Accuses South Africa of Human Rights Abuses, Says Country Barred From 2026 G20 Summit

US President Donald Trump has launched a strong attack on the South African government, alleging widespread human rights abuses against Afrikaners and other citizens of European descent. In a statement, he claimed the US did not participate in the recently concluded G20 Summit in South Africa because Pretoria “refuses to acknowledge or address” what he described as killings and farm seizures targeting white residents.

Trump also criticised major American media organisations, accusing them of deliberately ignoring what he called “genocide” for political reasons.

He further alleged that South Africa refused to formally hand over the G20 Presidency to a senior US Embassy representative who attended the closing session—an act he said justified Washington’s decision to exclude South Africa from the list of invitees for the 2026 G20 Summit scheduled to hold in Miami, Florida.

According to him, South Africa “is not a country worthy of membership anywhere,” adding that the US would halt all payments and subsidies to Pretoria with immediate effect.

The South African government has yet to issue an official response to the claims.
