Troops of 1 Brigade, Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West under Operation Fansan Yamma, have successfully neutralised several terrorists, including a notorious kingpin in Zamfara State.
The operation, which took place on Boxing Day, targeted Mai Sheka village near Kunchin Kalgo town, a community that had long suffered under the reign of the infamous Alhaji Ma’oli.
Alhaji Ma’oli was notorious for imposing illegal levies on residents of Unguwan Rogo, Mai Sheka, Magazawa, and other surrounding areas in Bilbis, Tsafe Local Government Area.
His activities had instilled fear and disrupted the lives of locals in the region.
The operation was launched following an intelligence report about terrorists operating on motorcycles in the Bilbis District.
Troops swiftly responded to the threat, thwarting the planned attack on local communities and eliminating Ma’oli in the process.
According to the spokesperson for Operation Fansan Yamma, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the success of this operation has brought a sense of relief and excitement to residents in the Bilbis area.
The community, which had been subjected to years of terror, now looks forward to lasting peace and stability.
The military operation underscores the Joint Task Force’s commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety of residents in Zamfara State.
Troops have reaffirmed their resolve to neutralise all remaining terrorists and their collaborators in the region.
The Joint Task Force continues to collaborate with local communities to strengthen security efforts and achieve sustainable peace across Zamfara State and beyond.
