Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, joined youths and political leaders in Kano on Monday evening to observe Iftar (breaking of fast).
The prayers were held at Al-Furqan Mosque, while the Iftar took place at Amani Event Centre in the ancient city. The gathering also marked the launch of a feeding programme for the underprivileged, a key initiative under Seyi Tinubu’s Renewed Hope for Youth Engagement (RHYE), which aims to support vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities.
The feeding programme aligns with the broader Renewed Hope Agenda of his father’s administration.
Before the Iftar, Seyi Tinubu paid a visit to elder statesman and business magnate Aminu Dantata. He also met with Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf later in the day.
The Iftar gathering brought together the sons of prominent Kano political figures, including Governor Abba Yusuf, former governors Abdullahi Ganduje and Ibrahim Shekarau. In a rare display of political unity, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) were in attendance.
Notable figures at the event included NNPP State Chairman Hashim Sulaiman Dungurawa, APC chieftain Dan Agundi, and several NNPP government appointees, underscoring the event’s significance beyond party lines.
Seyi Tinubu expressed gratitude to the people of Kano for their warm reception, acknowledging their show of love and respect. He emphasised the importance of community service and social welfare, particularly during Ramadan, reaffirming his commitment to initiatives that uplift the underprivileged and promote national unity.
