President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to visit Kano today (Friday) to offer condolences to the government and people of the state, as well as to the family of the late elder statesman, business magnate, and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.
The planned visit was confirmed in a statement released on Thursday by the spokesperson to the state governor, Sunusi Bature Tofa.
The visit comes in the wake of Dantata’s recent passing, a loss that has drawn national mourning and tributes across Nigeria’s political and business communities.
Tofa described the president’s visit as a symbol of national unity and a tribute to the enduring legacy of the late Dantata. He called on residents to uphold Kano’s tradition of hospitality and decorum in welcoming the president.
“This is a moment of solemn reflection and national respect,” the statement quoted Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as saying. “I urge all Kano residents to receive the President warmly and in an orderly manner, as he joins us in mourning one of our greatest elder statesmen.”
The statement also noted that all necessary security and logistical arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth and dignified visit.
