President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Wednesday for a three-day official visit to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, following an invitation from President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, confirmed the visit in a statement issued on Tuesday.

During his stay, President Tinubu will meet with President Mbasogo at the Presidential Villa in Malabo. The leaders are anticipated to discuss pivotal bilateral matters, with a focus on oil, gas, and security.

Several agreements are expected to be signed to bolster cooperation between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea in these sectors.

The statement noted, “The President will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, along with other cabinet members involved in the agreement signings and discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral relations.”
