President Bola Tinubu on Thursday paid a visit to the Dangote Refinery in Lagos, lauding the project as a monumental investment and a defining achievement of the era.
“Having inspected the Dangote refinery, which is a great point of reference, a great phenomenon of our time and a massive investment, I want to thank Aliko Dangote,” the President said in a statement issued by the State House.
During the visit, Tinubu also commissioned the access road to the Lekki Deep Sea Port. He praised Dangote Industries Limited and the contractors involved for the standard of work delivered.
“I commend the quality of the access road done by Messrs Dangote Industries Limited on our Tax Credit Road programme and the subcontractor, Messrs Hitech Construction Company Limited,” he said.
Reflecting on the project’s origins, Tinubu expressed satisfaction that the Lekki Deep Sea Port, which he initiated during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State, had matured into a major economic hub.
“I am happy that the Deep Sea Port I initiated as Governor of Lagos State is a huge success today. Users save vast amounts of money using this port because they no longer need to trans-ship their goods,” he noted.
Chairman of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, thanked the President for his foresight in conceptualizing the port project and reiterated the private sector’s commitment to supporting national infrastructure development.
“Your leadership has reignited hope,” Dangote added, commending Tinubu’s reform agenda.
