President Bola Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to Alhaja Lateefat Olufunke Gbajabiamila on her 95th birthday, describing her as a “revered leader, accomplished entrepreneur, and philanthropist.”
Alhaja Gbajabiamila, mother of the President’s Chief of Staff, Right Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila, was praised for her significant contributions to Nigeria’s socio-political landscape and her unwavering commitment to humanity and faith.
In a statement on Sunday, Presidential Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, quoted Tinubu as acknowledging the nonagenarian’s “unmatched kindness, humility, and unwavering dedication to serving God and humanity.”
Highlighting her trailblazing role in politics, Tinubu noted that she was the first elected female local government chairperson during the Lateef Jakande Administration, describing her as a “formidable political force in Lagos and beyond.”
“When chronicling the women who have left lasting marks on Nigeria’s socio-political landscape, Alhaja Gbajabiamila’s name will undoubtedly stand out,” the President remarked, emphasizing her pioneering contributions and enduring legacy.
Tinubu also expressed gratitude for her “support and consistent prayers” while offering his own prayers for her continued health and happiness.
“I ask God Almighty, whom she serves faithfully, to grant her many more years filled with good health, joy, and laughter,” he added.
