President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Rotimi Pedro from Lagos State as the new Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
The President also named three new Executive Directors (EDs) to serve in various departments of the national broadcaster.
The appointments were announced on Monday through the Presidency’s official X handle, ending days of speculation about changes in the NTA’s leadership.
According to the statement titled “President Tinubu strengthens national broadcasting, appoints new NTA DG and EDs”, the new executive directors are: Karimah Bello from Katsina State, Executive Director of Marketing; Stella Din from Plateau State, Executive Director of News; and Sophia Mohammed from Adamawa State, who will serve as Managing Director of NTA Enterprises Limited, representing the North-East.
The statement added that the appointments, which take immediate effect, “reaffirm the President’s commitment to strengthening national broadcasting as a platform for unity, cohesion, and soft diplomacy.”
