The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, announced on Thursday that President Bola Tinubu and prominent businessman Aliko Dangote will be key figures at the upcoming 2024 Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit.
During a press conference held in Abuja, Dabiri-Erewa revealed that the summit is set to take place from November 5 to 7, 2024, in the Federal Capital Territory and is anticipated to draw over 2,000 participants, both in-person and virtually.
She highlighted the importance of diaspora investments in contributing to Nigeria’s economic development, stating, “We are honoured to announce that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu, will serve as our special guest of honour. This underscores the significance of this event and the Diaspora in our president’s agenda.”
On the first day of the summit, business leader Aliko Dangote will serve as the Guest Speaker, aiming to share insights from his extensive knowledge and practical experience in successfully navigating the business landscape in Nigeria.
“This year’s Summit,” Dabiri-Erewa continued, “will focus on key sectors that are pivotal to driving investment and fostering growth in Nigeria, including finance, ICT, fintech, creative industries, sports and entertainment, agribusiness, healthcare, education, real estate, and infrastructure, as well as manufacturing and mining.”
She assured potential participants that the summit promises to be exceptional, featuring insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and actionable strategies to harness the potential of the Nigerian Diaspora.
Dabiri-Erewa also emphasized that previous editions of the summit have successfully attracted substantial investments and expressed optimism that this year’s event will yield even greater results.
