Nigerian football sensation Chidera Ejuke has been ranked as the fifth-best dribbler in Europe’s top five leagues this season, according to the latest report by the CIES Football Observatory.
Ejuke, known for his exceptional dribbling prowess, earned a remarkable take-on rating of 86.4 out of 100, placing him among the elite players in Europe. The CIES take-on index measures both the frequency and success rate of dribbles, and Ejuke’s performance has earned him the nickname “New Jay Jay Okocha,” drawing comparisons to the legendary Nigerian midfielder.
The Super Eagles star has consistently demonstrated his ability to outmaneuver defenders, making him one of the most feared attackers in European football. His impressive rating is based on his performances in domestic league matches this season, where he has successfully completed 28 take-ons—more than any other player in Europe’s top leagues.
Ejuke is not the only Nigerian making headlines in the dribbling department. His compatriot Moses Simon also featured on the list, ranking 21st with a take-on rating of 81.8. While Simon trails Ejuke, his ranking places him ahead of notable names such as Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise, Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon, and Athletic Club’s Nico Williams. Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé is just ahead of Simon with a rating of 82.2.
The only players ranked above Ejuke are West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus, who tops the list with a rating of 92.6, Everton’s Ilman Ndiaye (87.3), Lazio’s Nuno Tavarez, and Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who narrowly edges Ejuke with a rating of 86.5.
Ejuke’s ranking solidifies his place as one of the most exciting talents in Europe, and his performances continue to elevate his status on the global stage.
