Senator Abubakar Sani Bello has redeemed his ₦50 million pledge to support victims of the Sabon Pegi dynamite explosion in Mashegu Local Government Area, Niger State.
The funds were officially disbursed on February 11, 2025, to the Council Chairman, Hon. Umar Jibrin, to assist affected families, provide medical care, and aid community reconstruction. This redemption reflects Senator Bello’s steadfast commitment to the welfare of his constituents and his dedication to ensuring swift recovery for those impacted by the tragedy.
Reaffirming his commitment, Senator Bello assured the people of Mashegu that he remains devoted to their safety and well-being, pledging continued collaboration with relevant authorities to prevent future occurrences.
It will be recalled that during his visit to Sabon Pegi to commiserate with the victims, the senator had pledged ₦50 million to support the injured with medical expenses and assist in rebuilding damaged homes. The explosion claimed one life, left several injured, and destroyed multiple houses.
