In another show of responsive leadership, Senator Abubakar Sani Bello has donated ₦20 million to the Darangi community in Rijau Local Government Area following a devastating rainstorm that displaced over 360 residents and destroyed key infrastructure.
Senator Bello, who represents Niger North Senatorial District and chairs the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, sent a delegation to deliver the cash donation and convey his condolences to the affected community. The team included his Legislative Aide, Mohammed Sani Yahya, and Personal Assistant, Alhaji Ali Kira, among others.
The delegation was received by the Vice Chairman of Rijau LGA, Hon. Abdullahi Musa (popularly known as Babawo Lolo), and community leader Mr. John Sani, before proceeding to the palace of the District Head of Darangi, Alhaji Garba Abara.
Speaking on behalf of the Senator, Alhaji Kira delivered a message of solidarity, noting the Senator’s concern for the welfare of the victims and his prayers for their recovery. He emphasized that the support was meant to help the community begin the process of rebuilding and healing.
In his response, the District Head thanked Senator Bello for his timely intervention, describing him as a “true champion of the people.” He assured the delegation that the funds would be fairly distributed and used for the benefit of those most affected.
This donation follows a similar gesture by Senator Bello in Ibeto, Magama LGA, where he also donated ₦20 million to victims of another rainstorm just days earlier.
With these interventions, Senator Bello continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to the people of Niger North, particularly in times of crisis.
