Niger North Senator and Chairman Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Distinguished Senator Abubakar Sani Bello on Monday made a poignant visit to the scene of the tragic tanker explosion at Dikko Junction. In a display of deep compassion, he extended heartfelt condolences to the Niger State Government, under the leadership of H.E. Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, the bereaved families, and the Suleja Emirate Council.

The explosion, which resulted in the loss of numerous lives and left many injured, has been a source of profound grief for the community. Senator Sani Bello expressed his deepest sympathies to the victims’ families, describing the incident as an avoidable tragedy. He emphasized the critical need for increased public awareness about the dangers associated with inflammable materials, especially in the wake of tanker accidents.

After visiting the site of the explosion, Senator Sani Bello stopped by Dikko, spending some time with community leaders and residents to catch up with them before proceeding to the palace of the Sarkin Zazzau Suleja, HRH Mallam Awwal Ibrahim. There, he offered condolences to the Emirate Council, mourned the tragic loss of life, and prayed for the repose of the departed souls. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue advocating for measures to prevent such incidents.

Senator Sani Bello was received at the site of the explosion by the Council Chairman of Gurara Local Government, Hon. Abdulhalim Abubakar, Former Council Chairman of Suleja Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Maje, Former Commissioner of Environment and Forestry during his term, Hon. Tanko Zakari, Sarkin Hausawan Dikko among other community leaders.

Senator Sani Bello’s visit underscores his commitment to extending goodwill to communities beyond his constituency, a gesture that reflects his continued dedication to the people of Niger State, where he once served as governor.
