Niger North Senator and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Abubakar Sani Bello, on Tuesday joined dignitaries at the 2025 Saudi National Day celebrations held at the Royal Hall, Dunes Centre, Maitama.
The senator was warmly received by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Nigeria, H.E. Mr. Saad Fahad Almarri. In his remarks, Senator Bello congratulated the Kingdom on the occasion of its National Day and conveyed the goodwill of the Senate and the National Assembly, stressing Nigeria’s commitment to deepening ties of friendship, trade, and cultural cooperation with Saudi Arabia.
The event drew high-profile guests including the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President (Office of the Vice President), Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia; the Etsu Nupe, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Yahya Abubakar; the Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace; and Dr. Ado Muhammad, Global Programme Director at the D-8 Health and Social Protection Programme and former Executive Director/CEO of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), among others.

Saudi National Day, observed annually on September 23, commemorates the historic proclamation of 1932 when the Kingdom of Nejd and Hejaz was unified and renamed as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by King Abdulaziz ibn Saud. It has since remained a moment of national pride for Saudis and a significant occasion in international diplomatic engagement.
